This slideshow presents the results of a study that explored whether stable housing could improve the health outcomes of low-income individuals. The data was analyzed by myself and Dr. Lisa Marriott, the PI of the research project. It compares baseline survey results collected before the intervention with post-intervention data to evaluate changes in health outcomes. While there were multiple collaborators on this research project, the slide deck was created solely by me. I managed the organization and synthesis of data, ensuring that the presentation effectively communicated our key findings.

The data presented in the Canal Commons slide show visualizes baseline survey results from a new housing community that was recently added to the research study discussed above. The purpose was to present the findings to the housing company that hired us for the data collection and analysis. I coordinated the structuring of the slide deck, chose the data visualization techniques, and managed the presentation's alignment with project goals, ensuring clarity and relevance for the client.

During my time in the MS in Professional and Technical Writing program, I took a course called Book Design Software, during which I designed a promotional poster for a tulip festival using Adobe InDesign. The goal was to create an eye-catching visual using a photo that offered a unique view of the tulips. I carefully selected the image, made multiple drafts, and experimented with typography and layout to find a suitable design. Given the constraint of using only the provided text and one image of our choosing, I addressed design challenges related to text placement, contrast, and aesthetic balance, ensuring both readability and visual appeal while prioritizing accessibility.
